Message from Jane Goodall BDE/ Cancellation;;"The documentary feature film ‘Jane’s Journey’ has now been shortlisted to the final 15 for an Oscar. Given this situation Jane Goodall is required to travel to the USA in January 2012 for related media and premiere engagements. Jane is very sorry to disappoint both the students at the university and Prof. Alyn Rockwood who sent the kind invitation. But we will find some future date to fulfill this obligation and the Opportunity to bring Jane’s message to Saudi Arabia."
Jane Goodall
In July 1960, at just 26, Jane Goodall traveled from England to what is today Tanzania and bravely entered the little-known world of wild chimpanzees. She was equipped with nothing more than a notebook and a pair of binoculars. But with her unyielding patience and characteristic optimism, she won the trust of these initially shy creatures. She managed to open a window into their sometimes strange and often familiar-seeming lives. The public was fascinated and remains so to this day. Today, Jane’s work revolves around inspiring action on behalf of endangered species, particularly chimpanzees. In her talk entitled “Making a Difference,” Dr. Goodall will provide insight into the person behind the globe-trotting international icon: a UN Messenger of Peace, Dame of the British Empire, and the subject of countless articles and television programs around the world.
