Brian James has been bird watching for the past 30 years. He worked as a teacher in Tanzania and soon started to take a keen interest in identifying the birds there. Since then he has watched birds throughout the world and has a life list of around 5000 species.
Brian came to KAUST when it first opened and worked as a teacher in the Primary School until this year when he retired. He runs the blog http://kaustbirding.blogspot.com about birding in KAUST, regularly giving information about the birds around at any given time. He has also travelled widely within Saudi Arabia watching birds and recorded almost 400 species in his time here.
Marios Mantzourogiannis started photography in 2009; he has participated in a number of photography exhibitions in Greece and he has also presented his work in different occasions here in KAUST. His interest in birds started in 2015 and since then he has photographed more than 100 species here in KAUST and he has also photographed birds in Greece, Kenya and Sri-Lanka.
He came to KAUST in 2013 and he is working in the Government Affairs & Security department.
He runs the website http://www.discovering-birds.com, where he presents his photos and his experiences as a bird photographer.
