Dr. Noor will discuss challenges with starting as a new faculty member, many of which draw from his book "You're Hired Now What: A Guide for New Science Faculty". He will go over some less-visible mechanics of the job, challenges and strategies around overseeing research personnel, navigating new teaching and service roles, and how tenure decisions are made. Time will be available for Q&A and discussion.
